Heather’s Hues October Polish Pickup

Hello, lovelies! I have a beauty from Heather’s Hues to share with you today. Heather created this polish for Polish Pickup’s October theme, Villains and was inspired by the Green Goblin from the movie, Spider-Man. This polish embodies the inspiration picture so well!

Before we get into swatches, let’s talk about Polish Pickup for a second.  If this is your first time reading my blog or hearing about Polish Pickup, you may be wondering what it is, so let me explain.  Polish Pickup is an interactive group on Facebook (I will include the link to the group at the end of this post) that allows you to submit theme ideas for each month and vote for your favorite theme. After the theme is picked, you may then select your favorite polishes to purchase from a multitude of different makers here. The shop opens the first Friday of every month and closes the following Monday. This month, the shop opens on 10/5 at 11 am EST and closes 10/8 at 11:59pm EST. They offer flat rate shipping to the US ($3) and Canada ($5) and orders will usually start shipping about 3 weeks after the shop has closed. It’s an amazing concept and is very popular! I love it and routinely spend a good chunk of money there every month. Ok, you guys came here for some pics so let’s get on with it.

We Are Who We Choose To Be is a gorgeous multichrome polish that has a green base that shifts to purple, aurora shimmer and iridescent color shifting glitters and flakes as well as multichrome flakes. The glitters and flakes in this polish shift from red to gold to green. While photographing this polish, I found the purple shift hard to capture. It may be the kind of shift that is more evident in low lighting (my favorite kind. I call that a sneaky shift) but in my lighting setup, I was only able to capture it in my bottle shot, not my nails. The formula on this polish is wonderful, I had no issues with it at all. I used 3 thin coats and a quick drying top coat for this swatch.

I love multichromes and this green beauty was no exception. I’ll leave all the pertinent links down below to both Polish Pickup and Heather’s Hues. This polish will be $12.50 and there will be no cap. Will you be picking this up when the Polish Pickup shop opens? Let me know in the comments and thank you for reading!

Pahlish Arcana collection

Hello, fellow polish lovers! I have some new Pahlish to share today. Pahlish is my absolute favorite indie maker so everything she makes, I love and this new collection is no exception. The Arcana collection was inspired by Tarot cards and each one is just stunning. I have no prior knowledge of Tarot at all but I did a bit of research after receiving this collection to swatch and it’s very fascinating. These new Pahlishes will be available in her shop on Sunday, 1/14 at 7 pm central time. Shannon is also one of the guest makers in Hella Holo Customs this month and 4 custom polishes will be available for purchase. You do have to be a member of their Facebook group to buy them so go check it out if you don’t want to miss new pretties. Ok, let’s get to the good stuff- swatches!      First up, I have the King of Cups. This polish is a medium taupe with a mix of holo flakes and pigment and bright purple shifting shimmers.
