Hello, fellow polish lovers! I have some new Pahlish to share today. Pahlish is my absolute favorite indie maker so everything she makes, I love and this new collection is no exception. The Arcana collection was inspired by Tarot cards and each one is just stunning. I have no prior knowledge of Tarot at all but I did a bit of research after receiving this collection to swatch and it’s very fascinating. These new Pahlishes will be available in her shop on Sunday, 1/14 at 7 pm central time. Shannon is also one of the guest makers in Hella Holo Customs this month and 4 custom polishes will be available for purchase. You do have to be a member of their Facebook group to buy them so go check it out if you don’t want to miss new pretties. Ok, let’s get to the good stuff- swatches!
First up, I have the King of Cups. This polish is a medium taupe with a mix of holo flakes and pigment and bright purple shifting shimmers. The holo flakes and pigments are something you will see repeated in each of the 6 polishes from this collection and it’s something I will never get sick of seeing. The combo of holo flakes and color shifting shimmers that Shannon combines, always make me fall in love with her creations. I used 3 thin coats for this swatch as well as a quick drying top coat. The formula was wonderful and easy to work with on this polish and all the others in this collection. The wonderful formula and her unique color and finish combos are one of the reasons that Pahlish is my favorite brand. In Tarot, the King of Cups card can reflect that it is a time for balance, judgement and actions.
Next up, I have the Queen of Pentacles, a lovely deep olive with a mix of holo flakes and pigments and a purple shifting shimmer. This color reminded me of another Pahlish, Frog’s Breath from the Nightmare Before Christmas collection but the green in that polish is brighter. I’m not usually much of a green fan but when Shannon makes a green polish, she always makes me love them! I used 3 thin coats and a quick drying top coat for this swatch. In Tarot, the Queen of Pentacles card may represent a maternal figure in your life or one who has a deep connection to natural forces.
Now, I will share the Ace of Swords with you guys. This is a bright turquoise with a mix of holo pigments and flakes, scattered chameleon flakies and a violet shimmer. I used 3 coats and a quick drying top coat for this swatch. In Tarot, the Ace of Swords card can represent a possibility in the area of intelligence, reason, justice, truth, clarity and fortitude.
Now, I have the Knight of Wands, a charcoal grey polish with iridescent rainbow flakes and a mix of holo flakes and pigments. I used 3 thin coats and a quick drying top coat for this swatch. The Knight of Wands card can represent determination, drive and movement or could indicate a big change coming up in a person’s life.
The Lovers is one of my favorites from this collection! It’s a deep raspberry with a mix of holo flakes and pigments, scattered chameleon flakes and purple and violet shimmers. I used 2 coats and quick drying top coat for this mani. As I write this, I am going on day 2 of wearing this polish and I am simply in love! The Lovers card can represent relationships and choices or can indicate some decision about an existing relationship, a temptation of the heart or a choice of potential partners.
The Fool is my other favorite from the Arcana collection. That’s no surprise since purple is my favorite color. This is a bright violet purple with scattered holo pigments and flakes with bright pink shifting shimmers. This color pulled more blue under my lights when I took pics but it is a much brighter purple in real life than my swatch shows. I used 3 coats and a quick drying top coat for this mani. I also wore this polish for a full day. I got quite a few compliments on it at work! The Fool card can represent innocence, divine inspiration, madness, freedom, spontaneity, inexperience, chaos and creativity.
Overall, I loved this collection! The colors and finishes are so beautiful and unique. Each polish will be available for the price of $11 individually or as a set for $60 at http://www.pahlish.com/ Set your clocks for 7pm central on 1/14 so you don’t miss these beauties. These polishes were provided to me for review and all opinions are my own.
These are gorgeous! I'm drawn to Queen of Pentacles.
