Essie & Jamberry! A great combo!

Hello, lacquer lovers! It's my favorite time of year... Summer nail polish collections are released! I am absolutely obsessed with neon colors! Especially, purple. Big surprise, right? It being my favorite color and all! Lol  It's been a while since I posted but I got inspired by Essie's new collection so I figured it was time to write up a new post so I could share my love of it with you all! I hope you like it as much as I do!  Here's a pic of the whole collection. So far I've only purchased Sittin' Pretty and I'm Addicted (review to come) but I hope to get Too Taboo and Vices Versa as well. I usually don't like greens but that polish just looks so pretty that I might not be able to resist. When I first saw Serial Shopper I thought it might be a dupe of Tart Deco but after comparing them I saw I was wrong. Tart Deco is much brighter and seems to go on more opaque then Serial Shopper. I also thought that Sittin' Pretty was a dupe of Play Date but a

Snow Day Mani!

Hello, again, lacquer lovelies! It's been quite a while since I posted because life has been crazy busy lately! Sorry about that. I figured since my family had a snow day today, it would be a perfect time for me to write up a new post. Especially since I pretty much spent most of the day painting my nails and making a few new pairs of polish earrings. Nothing like a snowstorm to use as an excuse to give myself a new mani, right? Right! So onto pretty polishes!     I've been dying to do a half moon mani since I attempted it last without the hole reinforcements so I finally did one tonight and I love it! It was pretty easy, too. Check it out! Cute, right?     I recently purchased Gelous from Sally Beauty Supply after reading quite a few pins on Pinterest about how great it was so I was pretty excited to try it and see if it will help my manicures last longer than 3 days.      I started with a base coat of OPI Nail Envy then a coat of Gelous. After that was dry I did a coat of

New Mani!

Hello, Lacquer Lovers! How was your day? I enjoyed a snow day with my kids and celebrated my daughter's 4th birthday! I had a great day and I hope everyone else did, too!      I've been looking at quite a few pins on Pinterest lately to get new ideas to try for my blog and also to post in the new group I joined The Lacquer Legion. The theme for posts this month was reinvention so I wanted to find something I haven't tried to do before. I loved the idea of doing something different on each nail. My original plan was to attempt to do a chevron pattern but my first attempt at this was not successful at all. I'll just have to keep practicing, I guess. More details after the jump!     I used three of my favorite Essie colors: No More Film- a beautiful creamy blurple that I love,Warm & Toasty Turtleneck- another cream lilac that's gorgeous, and Naughty Nautical- a sparkly green-blue that is so pretty! On my ring finger I used Nicole by OPI- Lips Are Dripping Honey

Polish earrings

Hello, lacquer lovers! I was browsing on Pinterest a couple weeks ago and found a pin on making earrings with nail polish that peaked my interest. I read the pin from Sarah from Chalkboard Nails and it seemed like a great thing to try. So I went over to CandyTiles Studio on Etsy and ordered all the supplies I would need.      After waiting patiently for about a week I got my supplies yesterday and was up until after midnight making earrings! They turned out great! I can't wait to make some more and I'm really excited to share them with everyone and see what you think!      So, here's all the colors I used to make all 10 pairs of earrings.  1. Sinful Colors- Silver Rainbows     Sinful Colors- Nirvana 2. Sally Hansen- Mermaid's Tale     Essie- Aruba Blue 3. China Glaze- Fairy Dust     Revlon- Celestial FX 4. Sinful Colors- Top Me Off     Essie- Aruba Blue 5. Sinful Colors- Faceted     Sinful Colors- Patent Pleasure 6. Maybelline- Clearly Spotted     Sinful Colors- 24/7

Essie Gradient Nails

Hello, lacquer lovers! I finally tried out a gradient manicure and I loved it. I used a makeup sponge to create this and it was kind of a messy process but since it was my first time trying it, I've learned from my mistakes.            I used my favorite colors from Essie to do this manicure. The pink is Peach Daiquiri, the purple is DJ Play That Song and the blue is Butler, Please. One coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust, which is my all time favorite glitter topper and a coat of Seche Vite to make it super shiny.      Next time I try this I'll definitely put tape around my fingers and cut the sponge to make it smaller. Overall I think this turned out very pretty. I love how these colors compliment each other. I have so many ideas for my next manicure and post that I'm not sure what I'll do next but stay tuned! Happy polishing!

Nail art- Purple Leopard

So I've been really getting into nail art lately. After viewing blogs and pins on Pinterest I finally decided to try my hand at some kind of nail art other than dots! I decided to try leopard print nails and since purple is my favorite color I went with purple leopard spots and I was very happy with the way it turned out!   I used Sinful Colors Dream On as my base coat, Essie Play Date and Sally Hansen Black Out for the leopard spots. I also put a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust under the leopard spots and a coat of Seche Vite as my top coat!  This is my favorite manicure I've done so far! I love these nails and it wasn't that hard to do, either. I hope you like this mani as much as I did! Happy polishing!
