Snow Day Mani!

Hello, again, lacquer lovelies! It's been quite a while since I posted because life has been crazy busy lately! Sorry about that. I figured since my family had a snow day today, it would be a perfect time for me to write up a new post. Especially since I pretty much spent most of the day painting my nails and making a few new pairs of polish earrings. Nothing like a snowstorm to use as an excuse to give myself a new mani, right? Right! So onto pretty polishes!
I've been dying to do a half moon mani since I attempted it last without the hole reinforcements so I finally did one tonight and I love it! It was pretty easy, too. Check it out! Cute, right?
I recently purchased Gelous from Sally Beauty Supply after reading quite a few pins on Pinterest about how great it was so I was pretty excited to try it and see if it will help my manicures last longer than 3 days.
I started with a base coat of OPI Nail Envy then a coat of Gelous. After that was dry I did a coat of Essie- Nothing Else Metals on all my fingers except the ring fingers. On my ring fingers I put two coats of Nicole by OPI- Oh, That's Just Grape with a coat of Gelous in between. The coverage was great with only two coats and I love this shade of purple! Then I put a coat of Nicole by OPI- Party Bus from the Carrie Underwood collection over that. I've been dying to get my hands on this polish so imagine by excitement when I finally found it at a CVS location near me!! I'd been looking for it everywhere! It's so pretty! This polish wasn't too bad to apply, either. I had to fish for the flower shaped glitters a little but it was worth it. I used Seche Vite as my top coat, too.
On the rest of my fingers I used the hole reinforcements to guide my half moons and did two coats of Oh, That's Just Grape followed by a coat of Gelous, a coat of China Glaze- Fairy Dust and a coat of Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat over all my nails to finish it off!
I love this look! It wasn't too time consuming, either. I was a little worried that all the coats of Gelous and polish and top coat would make my nail polish look really thick but that was not the case at all! It's so sparkly, shiny and pretty that I can't stop looking at my nails! I hope everyone likes it as much as I do! Enjoy and happy polishing! Till next time!

September’s theme is Magic And Alchemy and the makers involved have created some beautiful things for us!  Let’s talk about Polish Pickup first and then we’ll get into the swatches. For first time readers, Polish Pickup is an interactive group on Facebook (I will include the link to the group at the end of this post) that allows you to submit theme ideas for each month and vote for your favorite theme. After the theme is picked, you may then select your favorite polishes to purchase from a multitude of different makers. It’s a fabulous concept and very popular! The  shop  opens the first Friday of every month and closes the following Monday. This month, the shop opens on 9/6 at 11 am EST and closes on 9/9 at 11:59pm EST. They offer flat rate shipping to the US ($3) and Canada ($5) and orders will usually start shipping about 3 weeks after the shop has closed. Ready for swatches? Coming right up!  By Dany Vian

Pahlish Arcana collection

Hello, fellow polish lovers! I have some new Pahlish to share today. Pahlish is my absolute favorite indie maker so everything she makes, I love and this new collection is no exception. The Arcana collection was inspired by Tarot cards and each one is just stunning. I have no prior knowledge of Tarot at all but I did a bit of research after receiving this collection to swatch and it’s very fascinating. These new Pahlishes will be available in her shop on Sunday, 1/14 at 7 pm central time. Shannon is also one of the guest makers in Hella Holo Customs this month and 4 custom polishes will be available for purchase. You do have to be a member of their Facebook group to buy them so go check it out if you don’t want to miss new pretties. Ok, let’s get to the good stuff- swatches!      First up, I have the King of Cups. This polish is a medium taupe with a mix of holo flakes and pigment and bright purple shifting shimmers.
