December Polish Pickup A-Le

Hello, lovelies! I am beyond excited to be able to share half of Polish Pickup’s December polishes with you today! I was thrilled when I was asked to be part of the blogger of the month duo with the fabulous, Jessica (@nailmedaily on Instagram)! I cannot wait to share all my swatches! The theme for December is Enchanted Forest and I will be showing you the listings from A to Le. First, let's talk about Polish Pickup for a minute.

Polish Pickup is an interactive group on Facebook (I will include the link to the group at the end of this post) that allows you to submit theme ideas for each month and vote for your favorite theme. After the theme is picked, you may then select your favorite polishes to purchase from a multitude of different makers here. The shop opens the first Friday of every month and closes the following Monday. This month, the shop opens on 12/7 at 11 am EST and closes 12/10 at 11:59pm EST. They offer flat rate shipping to the US ($3) and Canada ($5) and orders will usually start shipping about 3 weeks after the shop has closed. It’s an amazing concept and is very popular! This month, things will be a bit different and the items offered in the shop will NOT be a preorder but will start shipping immediately after the shop closes. Are you ready to dive right in? Get settled because there's a lot to see!

Alter Ego Nail Polish Chione

Alter Ego Nail Polish Chione is so pretty and versatile! This polish can be used either as a topper layered over a cream or built up on its own. Cynthia was inspired by falling snow for this polish and that’s where the name came from as well. Chione is the Greek Goddess of Snow. This polish is full of sparkle and glass fleck glitters. I used 4 coats on its own and while I could still see a bit of my nail line, I did like the look of it. I also layered it over a black cream and a purple cream so it can be seen both ways. The formula on this polish was a bit thin but not hard to work with. I did enjoy how sparkly this was especially over the creams.
This polish will be $11 and will have a cap of 50 bottles.

Aurora Lacquer Nymphony No.9

Nymphony No. 9 was named for the nymph, a beautiful young maiden who dwells near forest rivers. This polish has a stunning black cream base with pink and turquoise flakes that when combined, give it a deep purple/violet appearance. This polish is so pretty and it applied like a dream.
This polish will be $12 with a cap of 100.

Baby Girl Lacquer Enchanted Foliage

Enchanted Foliage is an evergreen matte polish that is full of flakes, is slightly magnetic and lightly scented. The formula was wonderful and very easy to work with. Since it dries matte, I took pics before applying top coat and pics with a glossy, fast drying top coat. This polish smelled like a clean, fresh scent to me. It was hard for me to place but did remind me of lavender a bit. I did also apply a magnet to this polish after applying 3 thin coats to my nails and a blue magnetic line was visible but was gone by the time I took pictures. I also reapplied the magnet after applying top coat but with the same result. This polish is so gorgeous and reminds me exactly of the foliage that would be found in a forest.
This polish will be $12 and will be capped at 49 bottles.

Baroness X Unicorns with Frickin' Light Sabers Acetone Antidote

Baroness X has 2 contributions for us this month. An Acetone Antidote and a stunning magnetic Unicorn Pee topper. Both items are named Unicorns with Frickin’ Light Sabers (best name ever!!) I’ll share the acetone antidote first. The Unicorns with Frickin’ Light Sabers Acetone Antidote scent is described as passion fruit, nectarine, mango and apple purée finished with a touch of plumeria and fresh lemon zest. It smells so yummy! I absolutely adore this scent. Using this Acetone Antidote has been so helpful to my cuticles especially when swatching. It really helps counteract the drying effects that acetone can have on your skin and cuticles all while leaving an absolutely delicious scent behind. I used plain acetone on my ring and pinky finger and then acetone with the additive on my pointer and middle finger and you can see the difference.
The Acetone Antidote will be available for $4.50 and have a cap of 150 bottles.

Baroness X Unicorns with Frickin' Light Sabers

Unicorns with Frickin’ Light Sabers polish is a Unicorn Pee topper with a purple to green magnetic pigment and holo. I used a black cream as my base then one coat of Unicorns with Frickin’ Light Sabers and immediately after held my arc magnet over each nail for about 40 seconds to achieve the magnetic effect. I prefer to hold the magnet for much longer than the recommended time (15-30 seconds). I also hold the magnet over my nail after top coat application to sharpen the magnetic effect. I really love the shift and colors in this topper, it’s gorgeous! The formula was very easy to work with and stayed right where its put on the nail.
This polish will be $17 and will have a cap of 275 bottles.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer Ill Met By Moonlight

Bee’s Knees was inspired by the Hircine quest in the game, Skyrim for this polish. Ill Met By Moohlight is an indigo jelly polish with gold to green shifting sibling Unicorn Pee pigment and red to gold to green iridescent flakes. This polish could also be used a topper but I was able to achieve opacity in 3 coats and I topped it with a quick drying top coat. Being a jelly polish, this polish starts off sheer but builds beautifully and the formula was perfect. I really love Unicorn Pee polishes and this one also has my favorite color as its base. It’s really a gorgeous polish.
This polish will be $15 and have a cap of 350 bottles.

Bliss Polish Under A Spell

Under A Spell is a gorgeous blurple polish filled with violet, green and blue chameleon shifting flakies and a dusting of holo. I adore colors like this and it applied so easily! I used 2 coats and a quick drying top coat for these swatches.
This polish will be $11.50 and will be capped at 105 bottles.

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Oh, The Torture!

Oh, The Torture! is a silvery grey linear holo with a strong blue flash, gold shimmer and blue microflakes. This was inspired by the song, Agony from the movie, Into The Woods. I love icy blue polishes like this, it’s so gorgeous. I used 2 coats and a quick drying top coat for this swatch. The formula was perfection.
This polish will be $12 and will be capped at 50 bottles.

Blush Lacquers Little Maroon Riding Hood

Little Maroon Riding Hood was inspired by a picture of Little Red Riding Hood. This polish has a maroon holo base with holo flakes. The formula was so amazing to work with and I absolutely love this polish. It’s a lovely red! I used 2 coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches.
This polish will be $11.50 and will be capped at 150 bottles.

By Dany Vianna Forest Of Gold

Forest Of Gold is a yellow jelly with a slightly holo base and is filled with metallic gold and multichrome flakies, galaxy gold glitters and gold holo shreds. This polish is the prettiest yellow! I love all the different gold flakes in it, it’s just fabulous. This polish was opaque for me in 3 easy coats and I sealed it with a quick drying top coat.
This will be available for $12 and will have a cap of 45 bottles.

Cameo Colours Lacquers Keebler Paradise

Cameo Colours Lacquers was inspired by a painting of an Elven Tree and it’s so lovely! Keebler Paradise has a deep mossy green base with a magnetic golden shimmer, micro silver holographic flakes and red to bronze to copper ultrachrome flakes. I used 2 coats and a quick drying top coat. I took pictures of this polish with and without the magnetic effect. This polish had a wonderful formula and was so easy to work with. I really love this color green, it’s absolutely perfect for this month’s theme and inspiration picture.
This polish will be available for $11 and will have a cap of 80 bottles.

Chaotic Glitz Believe In Magic

Believe In Magic is a bright pink crelly that is filled with holo, lavender microflakes and different sized matte glitters in purple, pink and turquoise and micro holo turquoise glitters. This is exactly the color that I picture when I think of unicorns which is perfect since that was the inspiration. It’s so gorgeous! The formula was wonderful and applied easily. Removing some of the glitters required a bit of scrubbing but that is to be expected. I used 3 thin coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches.
When you purchase this polish, you will also receive a free unicorn vinyl sticker. The colors will be random and can vary.
This polish will be $12 with a cap of 60 bottles.

Colores de Carol Happily Ever After

Happily Ever After is a stunning sheer to green thermal that is packed with aurora shimmer, ultrachrome chameleon flakes and iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatch. The formula was very easy to work with and it transitioned so easily. I absolutely love thermals and this one is so pretty!
This polish will be $12 and the cap willb determined at a later time

Colors by Llarowe Roads Less Traveled

Colors by Llarowe was inspired by a gorgeous picture of trees with the prettiest red fall foliage. Roads Less Traveled is a deep vampy red with a green to gold shift, prismatic holo flakes and OG Unicorn Pee pigment. I used 2 coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatch. The formula was wonderful and very easy to work with. This polish is so perfect, I wore it for a whole day and didn’t want to remove it. I’m really loving red polishes lately!
This polish will be $11 with a cap of 200 bottles.

Creative Cuticles Serenity

Creative Cuticles drew their inspiration for Serenity from a picture of fireflies in a forest at night. It’s a beautiful picture and the polish reflects it perfectly. Serenity is a purple to blue to teal to green multichrome with gold holo microglitters and red holo ultra microglitters. I really love the way the glitters in this polish look against the dark base. They really do look like fireflies! I used 2 coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatch. The formula on this polish was easy to apply and stayed right where it was placed on the nail with no pooling or pulling. Despite the glitters, removal was very easy.
This polish will be $11 and will have a cap of 45 bottles.

Crowstoes The Only ELVES On My Shelves

The ONLY Elves On My Shelves is so beautiful! This polish has a blackened multichrome base that shifts from a dusty teal to a reddened purple to bright fuschia to a greenish gold and dusted with contrasting sparkling shifty shimmers. This polish was inspired by Legolas and Tauriel from the Lord Of The Rings. I used 2 coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches.
This polish will be $12 and will be capped at 50 bottles.

Crystal Knockout Oracle Of The Grove

Oracle Of The Grove is a flakies filled beauty! This polish has a vivid pink base with red to gold aurora shimmer, gold to green chameleon microglitters, red to gold microflakes, metallic gold flakies, iridescent purple flakes, green to pink to gold shifting ultrachrome chameleon flakes and pink to purple to green crystal chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches.
This polish is $12 and is capped at 60 bottles.

Cuter Cuticles Smurfberry Merry

Cuter Cuticles has created the yummy smelling Smurfberry Merry cuticle oil and Barrier Butter. This scent is reminiscent of the cereal from the 80’s (my favorite decade!) called Smurfberry Crunch! It smells exactly like the cereal. My husband recognized the smell right away when he sniffed these, with no clues from me at all.

The Smurfberry Merry Barrier Butter is a wonderful protective mixture of whipped butters and oils that will protect and moisturize your hands and cuticles. It also contains natural beeswax that helps seal in all the yummy moisturizing oils. I absolutely love how thick this product is! It moisturized and softened my cuticles when I used it and I haven’t stop using it yet! I adore it!
This will be $6 and there will only be 60 available so don’t miss this, guys!

Smurfberry Merry cuticle oil is a lovely blend of jojoba, apricot kernel, avocado and grape seed oils, vitamin E and essential oils that will leave your cuticles feeling soft and pampered! It certainly had that effect on mine.
When used in combination with the Barrier Butter, you will have the healthiest cuticles on the block! I’ve loved using them.
This will be $6 and there will only be 60 available so add these to your wishlist now!

Cuticula A Dream Worth Keeping Duo

A Dream Worth Keeping duo was inspired by the animated movie, Ferngully. I loved this movie, it was so colorful and cute! Amanda from Cuticula has created a gorgeous scented duo for us this month and I love them!
The scent for this duo is amazing! It’s described as a blend of green tea as the high note underscored with fresh cucumber as the bottom note. It smells so fresh and clean I could not stop sniffing my nails.
The Static base coat is a sticky base coat that works like double sided tape because it adheres to both the nail and the polish applied to it. It also defends against staining and can protect your manis for up to 2 weeks.  I swear by Cuticula’s base coats, they’re all I use.

The other half of the duo is an Enchated top coat and it’s amazing! It’s a breathtaking sight of flakes of shifting pigments that flash from cyan to indigo and purple to copper to green. I absolutely adore this top coat, it’s so gorgeous!
The Enchanted top coat offers all the benefits of Cuticula’s Timeless top coat. It’s 5 free, offers hours of scent once fully dry, has a high gloss shine, is non-yellowing and increases the durability of your mani. It’s also fast drying. It’s usually dry to the touch in about 3 minutes and will be fully cured in about 30 to 45 minutes.
I have shown the Enchanted top coat over a pink cream and a dark purple cream. It’s so stunning!
These products will be offered as a duo only (not individually) and will be $18 and be capped at 132 sets.

I couldn’t resist doing some nail art inspired by the pic that Amanda chose to base this duo on.

Dollish Polish Test Thy Courage

Test Thy Courage was inspired by the Great Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda. Test Thy Courage is a teal jelly polish with green to aqua aurora shimmer and microflakes. I absolutely love this blue, it’s so beautiful! I used 3 thin coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches.
This polish will be $12 and have a cap of 125 bottles.

Dreamland Lacquer The Lights Of Faskally Wood

The Lights Of Faskally Wood from Dreamland Lacquer was inspired by the Enchanted Forest sound and light event at Faskally Wood in Pitlochry, Scotland. This polish has a black jelly base with purple to red iridescent flakies, aurora shimmers and a sprinkling of very fine holo glitters. This polish can be used as a topper. I was able to achieve opacity in 3 easy coats so I wore it on its own. I topped it with a quick drying top coat. The formula on this polish was perfect and was very easy to apply.
This polish will be $12 and will be capped at 120 bottles.

Ethereal Lacquer Spellfrost

Spellfrost has a sheer, icy blue base with a glory violet shimmer paired with a variety of chameleon iridescent flakies. This polish is such a beauty! It starts out very sheer but builds wonderfully and I’m sure it would also look gorgeous over a creme base. I chose to showcase it on its own and I used 3 coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatch.
This polish will be $12.50 and the cap will be determined later.

Ever After Polish Enchant Me

Enchant Me is a turquoise blue crelly loaded with holo, pink and turquoise aurora shimmer and a rainbow blend of ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I absolutely adore this color blue, it’s so pretty. I used 3 easy coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches.

This polish will be $11 and will be capped at 300 bottles.

Femme Fatale Amanita

Amanita has an inky blue jelly base with red iridescent flakes, red aurora shifting pigment and green magnetic pigments. This polish is so beautiful and applied wonderfully. The magnetic effect is very subtle in pictures but is more apparent in real life. It really adds dimension to this polish. I used 3 coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches.
This polish will be $15 and will be capped at 250 bottles.

Fiendish Fancies Vengeful Spirits

Fiendish Fancies has a gorgeous blackened olive green called Vengeful Spirits. It also has color shifting flakes and sparkles added in. Lara was inspired by the psychological thriller movie, Vinyan and the bleak haunted jungles where grief communes with spirits. I used 2 coats plus a quick drying top coat for this swatch but I easily could have gotten away with one. The formula was wonderful and applied like a dream!
This polish will be $12.50 and will be capped at 20 bottles.

Flirtin’ Dark Fantasy

Dark Fantasy has a black base with shades of pink and purple glitter flakies. I love the way the glitters look against the dark base of this polish. This polish dries a bit textured for me and I used 2 coats of top coat and 2 coats of the polish for my swatches. It applied wonderfully but did require a bit of scrubbing to remove.
This polish will be $11 and will be capped at 50 bottles.

Grace-full Nail Polish Fairy Footprints

Fairy Footprints is a fabulous rose gold holo with rose gold and silver metallic flakes and holo microglitters. This polish is a one coat wonder, guys! It applied beautifully and I love it! Rose gold is becoming one of my favorite metallics.

Great Lakes Lacquer I Speak For The Trees

I Speak For The Trees was inspired by truffala trees from The Lorax. This polish is a absolutely gorgeous white crelly filled with holo micro flakes, four different colors of iridescent shifting flakes and orange to copper to gold to green shifting aurora shimmers. I was blown away by how beautiful this polish is when I used it! I can’t wait to wear it again. Its formula was so easy to work with and the flakes all laid flat on the nail. I used 3 coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches.
This polish will be $13 and the cap will be determined later.

Heather’s Hues Enscorell

Ensorcell is a beautiful tri-thermal polish that shifts from black (cold) to dark pink (warm) to a bluish lavender (hot) with red to gold aurora shimmer and multichrome flakes that shift from pink to teal to gold to green, a teal holo and turquoise to purple chameleon microglitters. This was my first tri-thermal and I really love it! All the colors are simply amazing with the flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches. The formula was wonderful and applied like a dream.
This polish will be $12.50 and will be capped at 150 bottles.

Illyrian Polish Magika

Magika is a blue jelly beauty that is packed with holo sparkles, a gold to green to indigo aurora shimmer with gold to pink to green, green to teal, purple to indigo and purple to pink iridescent flakes. It’s sooo gorgeous! This polish was opaque for me in 3 thin coats and the formula was so easy to work with. For added shine, I topped it with a quick drying top coat.
This polish will be $13 and will have a cap of 170 bottles.

It Girl Nail Art

It Girl has created an amazing mini stamping plate (LE 106) that is filled with images inspired by the enchanted forest and the creatures that can be found there, both magical and mortal and because of that, I decided to do 2 manis with this plate to showcase it.
I used the mortal images in this first stamping mani. I started with a couple different shades of green polishes and did a smoosh mani then added some gold leaf images. On top of that, I added the images from the It Girl plate that I reverse stamped. I sealed it all with a quick drying top coat. I also added a matte top coat so you can see all the details.
This plate was such a pleasure to use. The images on this plate are wonderfully etched and they pick up so easily. I had no problems using it at all.

This plate will be $5 and will have a cap of 100 plates. When you purchase this plate, you will also receive a coupon to get the companion plate (IG 314) for free with any $25 purchase from It Girl’s Shop and the coupon is good for a year.

I also did a mythical creature mani using the plate, LE 106. I love doing smoosh manis so this time, I used neon purple, pink and blue then sponged some black over that and added a dragon, unicorn, centaur and griffin images. I added a holo glitter topper and then a quick drying top coat to finish this look.
I really loved using this plate and I look forward to trying more from It Girl’s shop in the future.

Jior Couture Bwa Kayiman

Bwa Kayiman was inspired by the forest site of the same name. This forest was the site of the voodoo ceremony during which the first major slave insurrection of the Haitian revolution was planned.
Bwa Kayiman is a red to orange to copper holo multichrome with blue and green aurora pigment. This polish was opaque in 2 easy coats and applied easily. I topped it with a quick drying top coat.
This polish will be $11.50 and will be capped at 125 bottles.

Lemming Lacquer Equinox

Equinox is a grassy green jelly with fiery shifting shimmers and purple to blue to gold to orange to pink shifting iridescent flakes. I really, really love the flakes in this polish! They’re so beautiful against the green base. Even though this polish is a jelly, it was opaque for me in 2 easy breezy coats. I really love the formula on Lemming’s polishes.
This polish will be $13 and will be capped at 125 bottles.

P*O*P Polish Pastel Oil Slick 360 collection

Hello, multichrome lovers! Are you ready to see something new, exciting and gorgeous?? Because I have 8 new multichromes from P*O*P Polish to share with you guys today! I was very excited when Bianca asked me to swatch her new polishes and even more excited to find out that we both live in the same city. So not only did I find a new to me indie brand, I found a new, local indie brand which is super exciting to me. These multichromes are new because they are pastel! We’re used to the darker toned multichromes where the normal shifts are blues, greens, purples, golds but these new pastel multichromes have a shift added. Nude and grey shifts can be seen in these in certain lighting. They were hard to capture but they’re there. These polishes were so intriguing to swatch. I was staring at my fingers constantly when I wore them. The Pastel Oil Slicks will be available to purchase on August 10th at 3pm EST here:  https://www.etsy.com/sho
