Hello, I’m back today with a new Polish Pickup from Pahlish to share with all you lovely readers!
Let’s start off with the info about Polish Pickup for any of you not familiar with it.
Polish Pickup is an interactive group on Facebook (I will include the link to the group at the end of this post) that allows you to submit theme ideas for each month and vote for your favorite theme. After the theme is picked, you may then select your favorite polishes to purchase from a multitude of different makers here. The shop opens the first Friday of every month and closes the following Monday. This month, the shop opens on 4/5 at 11 am EST and closes 4/9 at 11:59pm EST. They offer flat rate shipping to the US ($3) and Canada ($5) and orders will usually start shipping about 3 weeks after the shop has closed. It’s an amazing concept and is very popular! Let’s get into the swatches.
This month's theme is Famous Works Of Art and Pahlish chose a painting that has fascinated her with its history.
Klimt’s portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I is also known as The Woman In Gold and was stolen by the Nazis in 1941. It was eventually returned to the family in 2006 along with several other pieces. This was one of the first pieces of art that Shannon fell in love with so creating this beautiful polish was fitting.
The Woman In Gold was a soft chocolate creme with crushed gold flakes and scattered bronze to gold to green multichrome shimmer. I’ve loved the crushed gold flake that Shannon has been using and the addition of a multichrome shimmer is just stunning! I used 2 coats and a quick drying top coat for my swatches.
This polish will be $12.50 and it will not be capped.
I cannot wait to see what other pieces of art inspire the other makers for this month’s Polish Pickup. Pahlish definitely made us a fabulous polish and I loved swatching it!
Head over to the Facebook group to see what else is coming for April. Will you be picking this up when the shop opens? Let me know in the comments and thank you so much for reading!
